Raider Of The Lost Art.

Jewelry designer turned furniture designer Herve Van der Straeten has long been one of our favorite artists. We use the term artist, because in our opinion, everything he creates is truly a work of art. This image shows off his loft in Paris with two of his signature aluminum pod-like stools. Known for his use of metal and sculptural forms, Van der Straeten will sometimes oversee 3 to 4 craftsmen to work on a single design, sustaining what unfortunately has becoming a dying art. Available here in the states through Ralph Pucci, Van der Straeten's work is not only innovative and beautifully executed, it's also refreshing and timeless.
