We're beside ourselves over the Elizabeth Peyton show opening at the New Museum October 8th. This is the first survey of her work in the U.S. and it will include over 100 paintings from the last 15 years. We've always been huge fans of Peyton's figurative work and have long admired her casual, painterly technique. She somehow manages to capture an intimate moment with an almost seductive quality with each colorful piece and it will be fascinating to see so much of her work in a historical context. From Kurt Cobain to Marc Jacobs, Peyton's references to popular culture will no doubt give us a captivating look into the mind of one of today's most prolific artist and we CAN NOT wait!
