HellaVision.

We had to give a presentation this evening in which one of the things we spoke about was growing up in the South surrounded by so many beautiful, natural resources, illustrating why nature has so much influence on our design sensibility. We were also brought up around a menagerie of animals ranging from livestock, to wildlife as well more traditional pets. With that in mind, we couldn't help but think about these whimsical bowls designed by Hella Jongerius for Nymphenburg that we simply adore. Jongerius has become known for the special way she fuses industry and craft, high and low tech, tradition and the contemporary. After graduating Eindhoven Design Academy in 1993 she started her own design company, Jongeriuslab, through which she produces her own projects and projects for clients such as Maharam, Royal Tichelaar Makkum, Vitra and IKEA. Her work has been shown at museums and galleries such as the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, MoMA, the Design Museum, Galerie KREO and Moss gallery here in New York (where these bowls are now available.) We'll give 100 dollars to the first person that sends us one!
