What's Good For The Goose...

Artist-check. Furniture Designer-check. Lighting Designer-check. Prankster-check check check! Sebastián Errázuriz occupies each of these titles and more with his smart, irreverent creations and he's causing quite a stir in the design community. Born in Santiago, Chile and currently living here in New York, the 31 year old designer displayed his latest work with Christina Grajales's gallery at this year's Design Miami. Before the show ended, a bidding war errupted proving that Errázuriz's work was one hot commodity in the ever so cool art scene. We first got excited about his designs when we discovered his Repisa N5 shelving system that resembles piano keys that swivel off the wall when you want to put something on them. Smart, functional and clever, each of his creations is a unique blend of artistry and whimsy. We have a feeling we're going to hear a lot more from this young talent; at least we hope so. His imagination makes being inspired a no-brainer (unfortunatey this is literally the case for the poor goose above). To learn more about Errázuriz and read quite a spirited Q&A between he and artist Ross Bleckner click here!

Very neat ideas - I really like the first images and the duck lamp is hilarious.

Hey I just read an article/interview about Sebastián Errázuriz on Interview Magazine and I already knew who he was thanks to your blog :)

I almost felt like a chic newyorker (lol)

The duck lamp is disgusting and irrelevant. That isn't design, its just being outlandish for the sake of being outlandish.
