Hello there, it's Jayne Michaels again guest blogging for Design Therapy. Being a fan of both R 20th Century Gallery in Tribeca and the Turpan Gallery in East Hampton, I was eager to see their new collaborative space, R/Turpan at 14 Main Street in East Hampton. I had the opportunity to attend the opening this past weekend, and the intimate gallery is a well curated mixture of important vintage furniture and contemporary designs by artists such as Jeff Zimmerman, David Wiseman, and Hun-Chung Lee. The idea behind the gallery, or rather "salon" is to engage the public and like minded individuals in a series of exhibitions, talks, open houses and exclusive events. The idea of a salon has always been a fantasy of mine and seems particularly apt for the Hamptons where artist legends Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner, Willem De Kooning and Alfonso Ossorio sought inspiration and camaraderie. We will definitely check back with R/Turpan as the summer and their salon progress. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the above photos. My Best, Jayne.
