The casulo series of environments are carved from the trunks of awe-inspiringly large Brazilian trees. This series offers the viewer unique access to França's immersion experience of literally climbing into the tree, transporting the viewer to França's perspective by bringing them inside these massive natural forms. See the photo below of Hugo sitting in one of his designs to get a better sense of scale and then click here to read a fascinating interview with him done by New York Times T Style Magazine.
The opening reception is tomorrow night Wednesday, October 5th from 6 to 8 and Hugo himself will be there which is a real treat for those interested in his work. (bottom photo taken by Gabriel Rinaldi)
